Knowledge of diving suit
Many buyers are very confused to chose a diving suit.”should we chose a lycra/spandex diving skin or neoprene wetsuit?”they always have this question. Now,we try to answer.
A diving suit covering worn by diver,is a garment disigned to protect a diver from the underwater environment.it is a form of exposure protection protecting the wearer from the cold.It also provides some defence from abrasive and sharp objects as well as potentially harmful underwater life.On the other hand, diving suit is often used for thermal protection by people engaged in other sport activities such as surfingk, sailing, swimming, caving, spearfishing. In our shop,Diving suits are divided into Diving Skins and Wetsuits.
are used when diving in water temperatures above 25oC.They are made from spandex or Lycra with Sun rays protective as Rash Guards, also provide little thermal protection, but do protect the skin from jellyfish stings, scratch and sunburn.Diving Skins are soft,so some divers wear a dive skin under a wetsuit, which allows easier wearing and provides additional comfort.
Generally are made from 1.5 to 10mm neoprene, used when diving in water temperature above 10oC.The Foamed neoprene of the suit themally innsulates the wearer.Although water can enter the suit,a close fitting suit prevents excessive heat loss because little of the water inside the side. But the inside water can be not exchanged by cold water from outside.
So,Proper fit is critical for warmth. If too loose,it will a large amount of water to circulate over the diver’s skin, taking up body heat.If too tight,it will feel uncomfortable.
